G'day

Just wondering if anyone can help me locate a program used to take screenshots from movies and videos?

I need it for an HSC assessment so any help would be appreciated.

Cheers Alex

You would prob. need some hardware such as a video capture device (you can get cheap USB ones from about $100 that should do the job) - assuming that you wish to capture from an analogue source such as VHS etc.

Some digital cam corders enable you to dump recorded footage via firewire to your hard disc and then you can use Microsoft movie maker (free with xp) to get screen shots. (Some of digital camers enable you to pass the analouge source straight though - others require you to record it to digital tape first...) (NOTE: If the source has macrovision you may need to do some extra steps....)

Or - get a professional to dump the source to DVD then you can use your dvd player software in your computer to capture the footage for you.

Failing that pm me and I am sure we could work something out...for a fee (just kidding...about the fee...not the PM  )

Cant you just play the DVD on your computer, with the picture full screen, and then use the PrintScreen button to save the image to your clipboard and thence paste it into documents? I'm sure I've done that in the past.

:p

I hope not. Otherwise I would have waisted 15 minutes of my life typing out my reply last night. lol

(I assumed that the original source was not on DVD - but if it is do what Hix says)

The original source is a DVD, but you can't use the printscreen button for some reason. Ill try movie maker.
Thanks for your help
