Here there be Chickens

This is an entire chapter from Douglas Adams book "Last chance to see", in which he and a naturlist ( Mark Carradine ) go looking for endangered animals. In this chapter the go looking for Komodo dragons.

It will take about half an hour to read but well worth the effort. There are photos as well.

Rodent Rancher has my copy of the book but I think they changed or truncated the bit with the snake expert. I remember the end as
"Is there anything venomous you like?"
"Yes, but she left me"

Yes, have read the book about 17 times.
Unfortunately I left it on a qantas plane about 3 years ago.
Will have to buy another copy one day.

Not sure about that being the end, but was defenately somthing like that in there.
I like the bit about one of the skills he has developed being to get other people to handle the venemous animals for him.
