Who would like to go herping around the moss vale area tomorrow morning. Or even more helpful could tell/show me some good areas to have a bit of a walk.

Pick some bush, walk in to it and start looking.
You're now herping :)

Must be similar to snake keeping then. Pick a breeder , buy a snake put it in the enclosure.

Sorry Unclewo-wo I do not know that area.

Sorry @Unclewo-wo I do not know that area.
I don't quite get what you are saying sorry.
That's how you herp, there are no maps of "hot spots"or the like.

There is certainly different areas within Brisbane that is good to find certain species and certain areas have higher populations than others. Either you are being facetious or you don't really go herping.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Buddy, any time you want to compare photos of wild finds while herping let me know.
Now either you 2 don't go herping, don't understand that people won't give you their spots or just don't understand the use of distribution maps.

People like you make this site rubbish. You would rather give a sarcastic answer then give a straight answer to a member. If you do not want to give your best spots out then don't and just tell the guy. I know a lot of people that will not give away their best spots but will give some information out. I am not here to compare who has been out herring more because I don't really care if you do or don't but don't like some of the attitudes on this site sometimes (high and mighty).

He asked for advice so I gave it to him. Since I don't live in or never herped his area I couldn't be more specific.
Figure out what species you want to find, look on a distribution map, find suitable habitat in that region and start looking!!!!! What else was I meant to tell him? Since you think you have such a grasp on the subject why don't you help him out?

I think it's actually people like you who ruin the site, those that bring up a point (like me not being a field herper) and get stroppy like a little insulate child when they are proven wrong. Also those that like to try and put others down then try to play the poor victim when they cop a little back :(

As I said given that nobody else has helped him I tried to give him some advice, just seems most of the people these days are too lazy too take a little initiative because they seem to think wild reptiles just come and find you.

You could have quite easily said as I did that you did not know of spots in that area instead of using sarcasm. I have let the guy know in my first post thatI could not help him because I did not know the area. I also did not say that you were not a field herper but simply said you were either not a field herper or or you were being facetious which is how I found your sarcastic comments. There was also no stroppyness in my post just saying things how I see them and I am not sure on what facts that you feel that you have proved me wrong on because I have not stated any facts and just my opinion.

Maybe you are right about about a lot of people not taking initiative these days and do not want to do the hard yards of many hours of fruitless searching bush areas but I don't feel there is a need to offer sarcasm.

I will admit that I have misread your post if you tell me that there was no sarcasm meant in your post but if you don't I stand by what I have said.

Sounds like a perfect attitude to alienate people who are just trying to share a common interest.

Tell me, did you comment on this thread just to draw some attention to how much better you think you are than everyone else? Because that's how it came off.

I was merely replying to an accusation. Thanks for your concern though.
I would have to assume then by your comment that you were being facetious since you do in fact go herping and hence my remark that I would apologise if in fact that there was no sarcasm intended and I was misreading your comment.

Perhaps in future don't comment unless you are sure?

Why would you care who goes herping the most or finds the most reptiles, do people that keep birds bicker about who goes birdwatching the most or people that keep fish brag about all the fish they've found and photographed? I thought thats why people want to keep reptiles so we don't have to spend hours in the bush searching for a short look at them and a photo.
