Hi All,

I am going to be taking some much needed holidays next year around march/april and dont know where to go lol.

I want to get around and see plenty of herps and take plenty of photos and I would love to vist a few of you guys and see some setups and some of your wonderful herps.

Also wouldnt mind seeing a few of the larger herp shops.

Any ideas would be awsome.

Thanks,
Brett

Hi Mate,

I do a lot of travel to vic & SA and always enjoy visiting their herp shops. Some guys on here recently told of a weekend trip to pails in Ballarat. I ama also certain that the sponsors of this site would love to show you around their set ups. So maybe a road trip down to Melbourne, Out to Ballarat, then Great Ocean Road to Adelaide. You could then come home via that Bredls in Renmark. Might be fun. We can chat wehn you come over to my place.

cheers

Pete

Peter,
If going to Canberra you cannot forget to see Ross Bennett's "Australian Reptile Centre", heaps better than Exotic Pets IMO and he'll talk your ear off  He has some interesting views on keeping herps (which I tend to side with). Warning though, if anyone powerfeeds and admitts that to Ross, prepare to be scolded like a little school boy/girl

Why plan a holiday around visiting shops when you can plan it around finding real reptiles! (wild ones, that is)

peter, i have never seen anyone ever post as much as you (i have had a few drinks)

what is on your head in you avatar?

Hay Azz, if no one ever posts as much as me how come I am still a sub-adult (that will change after this post I guess). and it is my frillie on my head. and I hope you enjoyed your drinks - I gave up at 10pm 'cause no one was posting.

Hey Brett, saw you were on-line but thought you must have left your computer on. Yes, mate got your PM, thanks. good suggestion from Dorian for Canberra. Hopefully some other locals will post some more stuff for you. If the timing is right I can certainly meet you in Adelaide.

peter - what i was saying is that in a small amount of time you have smashed this site with posts.

I wasn't trying to be nasty Azz, I was merely stating that after such a ginormous effort in my part I was still only a sub-adult. And how did you manage to get up so early this morning? I normally post with a skin full on Friday nights as well but I have to save myself for tonight. But yes, I post a lot. I am an accountant remember. I have no firends. My life is boring. So i have to amuse myself in a way that keeps me away from the masses, and that brings me here.

Hay Azz, I average 1.43 posts per day (but lurked for a while) - can anyone beat that?

I can choose my times to be in SA. I am going there next week, I was there 2 weeks ago. I have an office in Norwood and a lot of clients over there. so if you give me enough notice I can organise to be there at the same time.

arrrr nice work.

I wish i had that kind of flexability with work. I mean i can start and finish when ever i like and the money is great but travel would be the deal closer.

This is probably a good time to remind all new users to make sure that they read the site rules.

One of these rules pertains to flooding - that is, posting an excessive amount of not-very-useful posts! :) All this achieves, apart from getting your post count up, is to really annoy lots of users and make yourself very unpopular. It's not quite so bad here in Chat, but be sure to keep it down in the main forum areas.

If you want to chat to a single individual, it's probably better to use the PM (Personal Message) system, rather than post both sides of a conversation to a thread in the forums. To access this, look at the member list on the left hand side. You will see a number in the middle, like this: (1/10). The first number is how many unread messages you have and the second numnber is the total number of messages. Click this link to go to your mailbox.
