Childrens Python - Hatched 20/11/10 (Owned since 26/11/11)

Sooo, im not really very worried yet because he's still alive, is the same size still and my temp is constantly between 30-32 at the warm end... but i cant tell if hes shedding or not, he has a blue shimmer in the light to me, but has now for like 2 weeks or so(probably more)... so thats a little confusing..

And then!!! he has only eaten once since Nov 15th, and that was Feb 2nd...

Any thoughts? or should i be worried at all?

Hatched on the 20th of november but hasn't had a feed since the 15th of November?
Did you mean 15th of december ?
So you got it 6 days after hatching with no feeds?
How often are you offering a feed?
What kind of feed is it and how are you offering it? ie tongs / via hand ?
Have you left the feed in the enclosure overnight?
Is it striking defensively at all ?

Childrens can be hard to get feeding.

it was hatched 2010... ;)

lol, look at the dates again... ive had him 4 months and he is a year and 4 months old..
the charting from the snake ranch says he was eating Adult Mice, but the only thing i got him to eat was a Hopper Mouse. I use chopsticks to place it in tank and I leave it for at least 24hrs every time. i offer maybe every 2 weeks when he wont eat...

The first time I got him to eat on 2nd Feb was after i had left it in the tank for over 24 hrs, and then decided to wiggle it and stuff so i had it near him and moving it etc till i sparked some interest, then he'd just smell it and still leave it alone even while still wiggling it, eventually i slowly lowered it onto his snout while he was investigating and slowly opened his mouth and pulled it, but let go... i did same thing again only he took it fully and ate it....

Haven't had any progress or even any interest since then..

He never strikes at all, for any re i think he is possibly the most placid snake ever.

Dates.....Doh !
I wouldn't be worried just yet then as it should be healthy enough to last quite a while longer.
Zero feed response at all is a little unusual
Are the hoppers warm when you offer them and is it at night?

I do have a stimsons that goes off it's food at this time of year every year for some reason, otherwise it's a good feeder although, your has been off food for a while now.
Maybe try some quail and see how tht goes. Mine usually chow down on quail...must be delicious to them
Your setup seems fine in terms of temps.

umm.. It's usually like 8pm by the time i get home and warm up a frozen mouse... haha..
Where do you get your food from? maybe ill try from there... some places apparently have lower quality feed.. and praps ill try a quail..
Is the reason that everyone uses rodents is coz quail is so small?

I really wanted a Stimsons... but mines pretty small atm anyways

Have PM'd details. Just another thought, is it spending most of its time near the heat source or at the cool end?

It doesnt really seem to have much of a preference, its like whichever hide he ends up in is where he stays... lol. sometimes it chills at cold end for a day or 2 then just stays in the hide at warm end. nothing really conclusive.

Sounds Ok then.
Looks like it is regulatng its own temp like it should be.
Maybe bump temps up 1 degree to see if the feeding response gets any better and monitor where it spends its time.

For others reading, the OP had success with a quail over the weekend so happy days.
Might have been coincidence/luck though because it still didn't strike and took it after leaving in the tank for an hour or so.
