hey just wonting to no ill be putting my male carpet python in an out door enclosure but i would also like to put my female out their to but i would still like them to breed and i was just wondering if they still would only reason i dont think they would is because i can not control the females temps they will have a heat box but thats it in the out door enclosure and i dont think that will control her temps enough? so yea just wondering if they will still breed if housed together all year round out doors?

thanks

Ive also wondered in carpets and diamond pairs etc will breed if housed together outdoors as indoors you require them to be separated and introduced etc...

IMO its far to late to be setting snakes up in outdoor enclosures! This is something that needs to be done from late spring so as the snakes have the chance to
adjust to the changing environment.

i never said i was putting them together now? i just said i was but hence why im askin now cause im in the process of building the enclosure now throught the winter then when spring comes ill be putting them in.

I know of a few people that keep pythons in aviaries all year round and breed every year.

You say you think they won't breed because you will have no control over the temperatures etc., does this mean that no pythons or reptiles breed anywhere except in captivity because we control their temps...?

Think about it, we adjust the temperatures to artificially implement the seasonal changes...

So to answer your question; no, it will not affect their breeding and as beeman said don't put them out until late spring. Yes, you never said you were putting them in there now but you didn't say otherwise either...

samnabz thats fair enough never thought of it that way so thanks for that n yes i should have said when i was going to put them in it sorry for that but thanks thats all i wonted to no.

cheers everyone
