If anyone has further info about it, then could they post the details? As far as I am aware there is no IBD in Australia although twor three isolated cases in the past I am aware of. The longer it stays out the better.
Just to clarify the latest research (July 2012) seems to indicate it is an arenavirus. For pythons they will normally be dead in less than a month, it is rapid and fatal. Boas however can carry the disease which is one reason overseas many keepers will either keep Boas or Pythons but not both. As mentioned diagnosis even PM is difficult and uncertain and there are a number of other disorders than can cause similar symptoms. It is a very nasty disease, probably misdiagnosed more often than not and does create a fair amount of hysteria, but either way it is not something to joke about.
