Hi, i fed my lacey 2 mice about a week and a half ago, he had one sunny day after that, but it has been raining ever since!. im worried about how long those mice are going to last in his stomach?. he has no extra heating in his enclosure. i can put him on some heat indoors, but he always barfs his kinda expensive meals. any oppinions on how long he can go? leave him be? or screw the mice and bring him inside?
thanks
...just a cute photo for you when he was younger :)

Nice looking lacie Im not sure about lacies but wouldnt worry if hes a decent size and looks healthy.Im sure they could go weeks in bad tempretures even in rainy weather theres still a bit of warmth you have him outside does he have a hide he can get a bit warm in whats he eating just curious buying one in about 2 weeks

It really depends on the ambient temperatures. It can be raining, but not necessarily cold. Usually, lacies can digest meals easily at cooler temperatures. Mine certainly do. Many times I have fed mine on a nice warm day, only to have the rest of the week become cold, but they have digested the meal easily within days.

I have found that picking a lacie up while it has a full stomach, tends to make them regurgitate the meals.

Look at where Lacies are common for example the Yarra ranges Vic bloody cold here at times and they survive fine. what is the air temp like as stated earlier rain isnt always cold?

thanks, well i wouldnt be able to compare but he seems healthy and happy to me. he has a hollow wooden log, which is pretty short and open but he stays in that evey night and cold days, i dont think it would offer much warmth for him. from 4 months onwards he has pretty much been on a whole meat diet, with the occasional pinkeys when they were born from my 1 breeding pair. that was kangeroo, beef, chicken wings (cut into small peices with bones still in), pet mince, and i had a bag of kitten food that had half a jar of calcium and quarter jar of multivit mixed in with it, which he had in between his meals. since he has been moved to his outdoor enclosure i have been feeding him solely on adult mice, as he has the room to run around and catch them now. im going to try some kangaroo next feed, i hope he is not too fussy for mice now. thanks for the help

serpenttounge, that is true as it has been a pretty warm ambient temp considering the weather, if you think its ok to leave him then :). i was worried as the last time i brought him inside it was cold for 3 days and he still managed to regurge a whole mouse, ears tail and all. aaron r, yeah i thought about that, and also thought about the reptile parks laceys, but they dont feed them when the weather is even slightly cool.
thankyou
