Hoping for a little advice , going away over christmas for 5-6 days and wondering what I should do about my 4 green tree frogs, they are about 6 months old . I was wondering if I put their vivariam somewhere coolish like the bathroom and then put in a whole box of crickets would this work. Or would they just eat the lot on the first day and get sick . Any advice welcome .

If your frogs are all well fed they should last 5-6 days with a feeding before you go. Just make sure they have access to plenty of water and it is not going to evaporate/spill while you are gone. Keeping their tank somewhere cooler could help in case there is a heatwave.

Thanks Aaron, yeh they are well fed I usually feed them every second or sometimes third day . Should I put a container of crickets in before I go as well.

Yeah that wouldn't hurt, GTF's usually stuff themselves silly but its better for them to have a chance to eat if they want to as opposed to nothing. Hopefully your frogs will be fine!

Possibly , I guess I'm just nervous that they might forget to shut the door properly or do something wrong .

I wouldn't stay away too long, you never know what they might get up to.
Just make sure they dont throw any wild parties while you are away.:)

Buy a tub of fly eggs (i think thats what they are). They will hatch while your away and your frogs will eat them.

fly eggs are in a small container with a hole in the top, they are usually kept in the fridge to stop the fly eggs hatching. once put into a heated or room temprture they hatch and slowly come out of the hole in the top therefore feeding the froge slowly. works well with them until the dominant frog clues on (this usually takes a few feedings with this method) and sits on top of the tub and snaps them all up leaving the other frogs hungry
