Hey guys,
I have a coastal carpet python who has just turned 2. absoloutley beautiful little boy, and tamer than any living thing i have ever met in my life time :)
i have owned him for over a year always thought that i should be feeding him weekly, with a rat 1.5 his widest diameter. I breed rats for him and i have always gone by this rule, no problems yet. hes never had a problem shedding and has never not taken a feed. poos on time, doesnt look under or over fed.
i heard recently from someone else who owns snakes that i could be doing him huge amounts of harm the way im feeding him.
He thinks that i should be feeding him enormous feeds once a month otherwise he can get something called scale lift and get really serious infections. Im sure this guy is wrong but i have to know.
Am i feeding him wrong? I have been doing my best to research snakes for years and I have never heard anything like this, and have always heard that they should be fed once a week up until 2 years, and then every fortnight after that.
any help is appreciated. i dont want to do my boy any harm.
Thanks, Kim & oscar the grouch :)

Is more smaller meals more beneficial than less larger meals, if so how.
Not being a smarta ss, just want to know.
Thanks.
