Hi all, my niece has a turtle that's aobut 15 months old,

He is in a 4ft heated tank and is about 11cm across the shell.

they give him one of the little frozen turtle dinner blocks a day.

Is that too much? I'm not sure how much he should be getting?

thanks for any info guys!!!

hey kerri.
try and alternate between feeder fish and blood worms and the turtle blocks. so the turtle gets a more varied diet. there is recipes your neice can make for turtle food which has a lot more nutrients for them then just the turtle blocks. i wouldnt be feeding turtle blocks everyday. every second or third day put 2 in. and give it fresh feeder fish, feeder yabbys as well as plants. hope it helps. hav a look in the search engine on this site, it has some pretty useful info througougt. all the best

You shouldnt be giving it the turtle dinner blocks at all, their pretty terrible, and blood worms have pretty much zero nutritional value! Yabbies, fish, crickets etc are all good, as are plants for short necks, long necks are completely carnivorous. You can also make up some turtle pudding as well!

Turtle Pudding

Check out the recipe for turtle pudding on a thread titled "feeding turtle" on the Coastal Reptile and Amphibian Group forum. There was a bit of discussion on the recipe and there are instructions you can use to make it. Hope you find it helpful.:)
