Hi guys,
My 16month old coastal eats once a week however when I talk to other people about snakes they say this is way too much. I tried extending her feeds a day at a time but by 7 days she is literally tearing everything down in her enclosure and breaking stuff looking for food.
Last week I'd left it 8 days....so she sat...with her head up at the door just staring at me....for ages. I can't trick her she demands her food at 7 days. Sometimes 6. The longest I've been able to leave it is 9 days and she was uncontrollable and very pissy haha. Anyways what do you think? She eats one medium rat a week and is 1.8m long. This is a recent pic of her, I really don't think she's overweight or anything but I'm new to this game. PLEASE any opinions you have on the matter will greatly benefit dear Snuffles.

My M/D is a couple months younger than your Snuffles(cute name by the way) but he eats about once a week and doesn't like waiting much longer than that for a feed.

I am thinking if your Coastal wants a medium rat once a week then give it to her if thats whats making her happy :) why rock the boat she looks awesome and as long as she can handle it thats fine :) Gosh she is as big as my 2.5 year old Coastal who I have just got :)

beautiful coastal!
i think that feeding every 7 days is fine and she's still young

I have a 2.5 year old coastal, about the same length, he/she is fed every 7 days. Never created any issues for mine. I feed mine 1 large rat - perhaps you could up the food size?

That being said, he/she is a garbage-guts and will happily eay 2 large rats plus (or quails, rabbits, chickens...) if available (eg if one of my other refuses a feed). I think coastals are a bit like that :)

Thanks I started off with a hardcore name Leviathan but she snores in my ear sometimes so she lost the right to such a name hahah.

That's what i think! I know my pet and I know what she can take and what she needs but people constantly tell me thats too much so I got paranoid. good now I can ignore them! congrats on ur coastal. Yeah I have a feeling she's gonna be a monster. In one shed she grew 30 cm...my bf is getting scared.

Finally a pic would load! So yes that's Snuffles, thanks for the compliment I think she's pretty. She's won over my grandparents even!

LOL yeah she'd eat anything I'd give her I reckon. Mmm yeah I reckon in another couple months i'll switch to large rats. Find out if yours is male or female! what's it's name?

I think male, but will get it checked out. Named Cocomo by my then 4 year old daughter! He's a very placid big lump and I think he will be a big boy......

Cocomo is an awesome name! your daughter got style haha.
