Unfortunately these things do happen all too often. We have several unsolved murders here where the body hasn't been found....I think it happens everywhere. Just read today that a bloke in his 80s is being questioned about a woman's murder going back 19 years. They've brought him over from Tassie to question him. A house was being renovated and the lady's remains were found in the back yard of the house recently. Perhaps her family will be able to get some sort of closure soon.

everytime i hear of remains being found in the vicinity of 'sydney' i cant help but hope that my cousin (daughter of my step fathers brother and wife) has been found

she disappeared in 1972 and there has been nothing about her since

it must still be hell for her parents as she had an identical twin sister so every day they are reminded of her and i keep hoping for their sake that one day she will be found and put to rest

That's Awful... My Condolences To You And Your Family Members...

thanks, i dont remember her much, my step father was killed in 1973 and his funeral was the last time we had any contact with that side of the family, apparently they moved back to WA when he got out of army

it would be nice for them to get closure and i hope it happens for them one day, one of my sisters told me a few years back she heard they were going to reopen her case due to some new information but nothings been heard since

she went to visit a friend, a bus driver remembers her getting on the bus but not getting off and shes never been seen again, of course we also heard rumors of women being kidnapped and sent overseas and sold into the white slave market, unsure how true that was but i guess anything is possible and if that is what happened then she would well and truly be brain washed into not remembering her life here

her photo is still on the missing person's site, i think it should be updated to what she would look like today by them taking a photo of her twin sister, never know

grannie annie . i rented in that very house in woodlands for about a year few years back . I'm not superstitious in the slightest but i always had a funny feeling when i was in the shed. (above where the remains were found) :s

I don't find that strange at all....I think sometimes we do have like a 6th sense about things and can't always understand why.....I think it's a very sad situation.

I agree, it would be good if an updated photo could be done. I see that you're from Broken Hill. I have a brother buried in the BH cemetery. He died in 1949 before I was born, he was only 18 months old. For many years when I was growing up I missed the brother I never had a chance to know, so about 25 yrs ago (it's a long story) but I visited BH and found his grave. I wept like a baby, but it gave me closure. He wasn't murdered or anything he just got sick and died, something to do with his kidneys. I have other older siblings who are still alive. It is good to get closure.

it is indeed grannieannie

hubby and i chat on another forum and a lady on there had a family member buried here, grandfather i think it was, she had never seen his grave so i got the information off her and we went to the council to find where the grave was then went and took some photos and sent them to her, she was glad to see his resting place and that it was some closure for her too

When I went to my brothers grave I asked mum if I could put a ceramic white dove on it, which I did. Mum's mother is also buried in the BH cemetery.
I have a friend here whose son was murdered in Tassie by his step-son. She'd never been to his grave, so when we visited Tassie a few years ago, we went there and took flowers and I phoned her from the cemetery and put my mobile on the grave so she could talk to her son and tell him how much she loved him. I know that might sound strange, but it really helped her grieve better.
