hey guys i just got my 9month old spotted, from the pet shop a few days ago and the bloke said she isn't due for a feed till Tuesday week, so i got her out today see how she coupes next thing i know she is latched to my finger and constricting my hand im not sure if she is hungry, and the pet shop havn't fed there pythons properly or she was just scared.
can put picture up

Definitely sounds like a feeding response to me. Offer it a feed and see what happens

Yeah, latching on *usually* indicates to me a feeding response bite. At 9 months old I'd personally be feeding at least weekly, anyhow.

looking at it from a pet shops point of view feeding bare minimum (while keeping the python healthy) is a bit of a must for cost. a picture would be nice, even if just to see the little one. and rob_n_son was right with the weekly feed. personally i feed every 10 days if they just moved up in food sizes. once a week when they are used to it then once every 4-5 days if the foods getting a little to small. how big is she and what it she eating ?

Pics didn't work. Try going to 'Advanced" mode and posting from attachments there.

Looks like a feeding tag, but I must admit I would have left her to settle in longer than just a couple of days.

agreed i let mine settle and have a couple of feeds before i get them out for cuddles or sun time

As excited as I was when I got Skittles I left her alone for a full two weeks and for the first four days I had the front of her tank curtained off so that she could get used to the new tank as it was so different to how she had been kept previously.

Out of curiosity, what size food did the pet shop recommend you feed her ?

i ask but the guy was to busy to explain he was running around and wasnt helpfull one bit :/ but by the looks of her she looks like she should be eating fuzzies

I am sorry but if that is true (too busy to explain) it is absolutely pathetic. Naming & shaming is against the site rules, but it's times like these that I wish it wasn't.

It's hard to make out her exact size from those pics, but I would've thought hoppers or possibly even weaners (mice).
