so i'm really wanting to move out, theres a load of reasons but i have found a 1 bedrm, 1 bathroom no carport masonette ......filled out the rent form and hoping to get an inspection time really soon....i'm scared out of my skin but can only see this as a positive.

$160 a wk, $640 bond.....it will just be me and i'll have no removalist cost coz a horse float will move all my stuff in about 3-4 trips.....

Congrats on taking the 1st step!!! You will be fine!!! I loved living by my self for 6mths! I did what I wanted when I wanted!!!!

Congratulations.....I've never lived on my own.....I was always too scared, but of course women are much more independant these days. I wish you all the luck and happiness in the world, the little place sounds just perfect. xx

i think if i get this, the best thing is pets are negotiable so i will be able to have my reptiles and its hard to find somewhere that will allow that, and i'll be able to have my dad and his family over without worrying about mum.....ohh and theres no backyard to maintain either....

Congrats, wish i could find something that price round here. Last time i looked i gave up when the cheapest i could find was $200 a week for what looked like someones shed with windows lol.

thanks, it looks lovely on the outside but its just me and i'm not fussy in the slightest, the agent looks like a lovely person to deal with as well. looking on gumtree to see what lounges and other furniture i can get for a low price or even for free.

Living on your own is weird for a little while but then its awesome. Its always awkward walking out of your room naked and realising your housemates are home... and have their family over.....

hi there also look on ziilch.com evrything on there is free.

rule #1 when renting NEVER trust any agent, EVER
#2 take photos of EVERYTHING, every wall, crack, chip, mark, everything, including the inside of the stove.
#3 make sure they do any repairs or such that need doing, if you give them an inch, they'll never do a darn thing, and if they won't, breach them and complain to the tenancy authority.

agents will ALWAYS try to rip you off with the bond, make sure you cover your own backside by having photo evidence of the place when you move in (make sure photos have dates on them).

don't get caught, because they will try, in the 15 places I've lived in, only ONE they didn't try to claim damages that were already there.

will second this advice well and truly, higher numbers for my list though and from memory it's only 3 that gave back most of my bond, don't take this as scaring anyone away from the idea just people trying to pass on the tricks to staying 1 step infront for the legal side of things, independence is great you will love it congratulations

thanks everyone but unfortunately the place has now been leased :( i am still leaving home though, my dad and stepmum offered me a spot up at their house. its in an insulated and air conditioned spacious shed about 5ft from the laundry door. it will be good i'll get to spend time with my brothers and dad, i can have another snake (already found him and picked a name)
