Does anyone know what the code is for Morelia spilota Cheyni? On the species list it says 5094, but every time i enter that it says the code I have entered doesnt exist....

Please help!!!

Probably because it's misspelled and also, species and sub-species names are all in lower case "c", not "C". The correct spelling is cheynei

No worries.
Gee, I think I would have some fun if I lived in NSW. What would the bureaucrats do if I entered "Carpet python, Morelia sp." how could anyone argue against that? Even leading herpetologists have a problem with sub-species and one could easily referenced that.

Hahaha! I did try so hard to spell it right on here so that no-one could fault me! lol. blasted "e"!

This is the screen shot of what it keeps saying. If anyone can correct me where I am going wrong that would be awesome!!

Clearly, they have got it wrong! Look up any publication or even Google, it's spelled cheynei.
LOL I would have a real field day with the dills in NSW. LOL

HAHAHA! think I am going to have to have a field day with them tomorrow to sort this out!!! so much for online being easier...

The code is 5094 and just put Morelia spilota, with out subspecies.
I applied for an import permit with the sub-species listed and it came back to me with it just listed down to species level.
I also had a few problems with the online system at first, but it was easily resolved by just emailing them.

I had exactly the same problem with the same code You will have to ring them and try and sort it out. it was okay for a day and then for a recent export (different species) it was like that again.

I tried it out, and every code I tried came up like that.

I have recently had hassles trying to get an import permit, the whole mess is an absolute joke, but at least some of the people that work in the office are nice :)

Yes, just spoke to a very nice lady who is going to post me the import/export pdf, because I dont have a printer... Bit of a silly setup if you ask me... Should take 5 seconds, it hs taken 3 days... and it took me until 3:55pm today to finally get thru.

That's the thing hey, the staff are very nice and have always been helpful to me, but the whole system is a complete and utter needless and pointless mess.

i got my licence online easy as, cant believe how much trouble ive had getting import export.... i just want my new baby :(

that is strange that you get that. I entered all my snakes into the e-book today and that is the number that my jungles have got. But I don't understand why you are getting asked for the number. Are you trying to get an import/export permit? In the normal e-book all the species are listed in a drop down menu. You just click on jungle and up she comes.

Ha! I didn't even get that far applying for an import permit. Click on "Add-Species" and nothing happened. So I had to print the form and send it via snail mail.
