I have heard some say that smileys are a must, and I tend to agree.
we take our cues from facial expressions and voice tone, so sometimes subtle meaning/feeling in what we say is lost in text. Smileys, though annoying to some, atleast go some way to making clear our meaning.
even so, they just dont convey the range of sublty of a real face.
our APS smileys, i find are sometimes a bit too narrow in the range of expression, folk end up with 20 smileys in a post.
i dont think we really need more smileys ,so much as a better range of expression.
I've rounded up the best I could find to a sub album in my gallery.
thought Id suggest admin might swap some, to help more accurate expression. god knows miscomunication causes more strife than anything. here are the smileys i found and my interpretation ofmeaning for your consideration. bare with me folk, its write up here or become a vegetable watching people sell steak knives on telly at this hour. lol
