I'm relating a story that i was told today by a family member, who witnessed a rather interesting reptile sinario recently....
He was out bush recently with friends having lunch beside a river, when he heard alot of birds freaking out; as they do if there was a snake/goanna nearby.....He went to investigate; and saw a family of Appostlebirds (Struthidea cinerea) going mad in a tree below him.....
On the ground below the tree he saw a large blackheaded getting what he first thought, 'attacked' by a crow......The snake seemed to tolerate being hasseled by the crow; in no hurry to get away......He soon realised the crow was'nt attacking it.....It was actually getting ticks of the snake.....He watched on for 15 or so minutes, until the crow noticed his presence and flew off...... I was upset, he had no camera.....none the less, a interesting observation......Who else has seen a odd sighting, worth a mention?

Wow That is interesting behaviour! cool ! :D

While not odd at all~ I had two male beardys in seperate enclosures across the room from one another. They began frilling up and head bobbing madly at each other, while raising the whole body up an down,
they did this for an hour or so on an off. Doin it as i type! :D

Q could this become a prob, stressing them out, or will it simply encourage
natural behaviour patterns, which will be positive/good for phsycoplogical well being.? possible benifit for furture breeding? i.e might similate wild fighting for a female/ encourage breeding of the male and female housed together?

Beefer....

That's very interesting Indicus!

I've heard of similar things with other creatures (egrets and crocs, cleaner wrasse and big fish etc) but never anything with snakes.

:p

Hix

Never heard of a symbiotic relationship with a snake and other animal at all, it is incredible the snake allowed it! shame no pics, might've been a 'first' discovery! :D

thats cool leats yu know now if you find your snake has tickes you can go out and catch yourself a crow hehehehe to rid them

Better yet get a crow and it'll lead you to blackheads

I assume you mean that they can lead you to BHPs so you can photograph them picking of the ticks off them.....:D:D:D
