My BHP will be 2yrs old in November and is about 5 ft long but still fairly slender. Just recently he has been doing alot of pacing along the front of his tank and trying to push the sliding glass panels to get out. He will do this for hours at all times of day and night.

Thought maybe he was hungry and was due for a feed on weekend, so gave him a rat. After that he was quiet, but as soon as he had digested he is back at the front of the tank.

Tried taking him out for a while but as soon as i put him away he is at it again.
So then i wondered if he was looking for a mate, except that i didnt think he was old or big enough for that.
So what i want to know is could he possibly be looking for love? Is he big/old enough for this to be a possibility?

Ta, Sarah

Both my male and female bhp do this. They are a pretty active species, constantly moving and climbing in warm weather.

Imo he would b 2 young, they are very active snakes thou,is there any other snakes that he might be able 2 smell.

1 of my snakes is very active hardly ever in her hide the rest a pretty shy only come out at night

Lol  My MD wants to sleep, eat, poo, sleep, eat, poo...I just interrupt his plans to hold him! :D

All of my BHPs do this.
They are just a very active and curious python, they like exploring.
Your boy can just sence the fresh air comming from between the sliding glass doors and knows thats the way out for adventure.

cool. was just a bit worried, he has always done it now and then but atm he is always at it.
thanx guys
