hello

i have a jungle carpet python in a click clack and i recently tried to move him into a 50cm high 40cm wide 30cm deep enclosure with a heat lamp above. as soon as he got in he went for a hide i put in like any snake would but he stayed in there for 3 days and didn't go to the heat or anything so i moved him back into his clack clack so i know he is ok

does anyone know what the problem is?

any help is appreciated
cheers

Snakes have very different sense to us and it takes them time to settle in.

Have you double checked your temps in the new enclosure......are you sure you have a warm area of 30 degrees and a cool end which should be around room temp at the absolute coldest with graduations of temp inbetween so that snake can thermoregulate.

You need to be careful that if your snake goes into his hide that he doesnt stay in there and get too cold. So checking the temps in the new enclosure is a MUST

i moved my bredli hatchy into a 4foot enclosure with plenty of hides, heat etc and she had a go at me once i put her back in the click clack and she was fine just leave it in the click clack for longer or maybe put the click-clack in the enclosure try that

ease your jungle into the new enclosure. i find this works best if you place the click clack in the new enclosure and leave it there. kinda like a security blanket. the hatchy can explore the new enclosure at its own pace but know that the click clack is there...

I had my Jungle in a 60x60x90cm enclosure, but I broke one of the glass panels.

Since being moved into a click-clack (until I get the enclosure fixed), she has been quite snappy.. It takes time for them to settle in.

Just going to add to this (as it's a great idea) that the Click Clack lid needs to be all the way off (so you don't create an oven in the Click Clack once placed inside the larger enclosure as your snake can't pick it's temps if trapped in a plastic box under a heatlamp) you pop the Click Clack into the large enclosure so the little guy can use it as a jungle gym until it gets used to it enough to be in there full time.
