Hey guys picked up my new jungle last week snake now in hiding box inside enclosure how long can I expect her to stay there before leaving the box ? snake has been feed.but I want to handle her soon.

When was it fed? If its been a few days since the feed then the steps would be open enclosure, pic up the hide off him, and proceed to pic up.. And beining a jungle theres another step enjoy being biten haha

I always give my new snakes a week or 2 at least before handling them to let them settling in.

I brought my Jungle on 8/7/12. Born on the 29/1/12. Gave it a feed on 11/7/12 which was taken. Handled since I got it for a few mins here and there (mainly to change water and clean out encloisure/click clack) and I've never been bitten (or even looked like it wanted to). Must of just got an awesome one. Lol.

It might be in hiding in preparation for a shed. If so, it will be more active after shedding.

every new snake ive had ive offered a feed within a couple of days of getting and most of the time they will take it and as far as handling goes I judge on the indvidual animal. If they seem shy and are hiding i wont handle unless cleaning etc until they become a bit more comfortable and inquistitive.

Cheers
Dave
