Well, after 3 and a half days on the road and 4500km travelled, I've a few questions I'm dying to ask.
1) Why do people pass you on double whites and round a bend on a hill crest then stop for a coffee at the next road house?
2) Why is it, just when you are thinking that the next bastard who tailgates or cuts in front of you is getting a bullbar up his clacker, someone flicks their lights to say "thanks" after you let them past?
3) Why is the water brown around Goondiwindi?
4) Why are the beardies out and about at Goondi?
5) Why do people aim for turtles and echidnas? Do they like to get together in bars and brag how many innocent animals they've killed this week?
6) Why are my buttocks so sore?

All the herps have started coming out here, from the little grass skinks to Brissie river turtles.
5) Why do people aim for turtles and echidnas? Do they like to get together in bars and brag how many innocent animals they've killed this week?
These people need to be run over themselves.

Perhaps they were swerving for an echidna or turtle and then stopped at the coffe house to brag about it...

2) Why is it, just when you are thinking that the next illegitimate child who tailgates or cuts in front of you is getting a bullbar up his clacker, someone flicks their lights to say "thanks" after you let them past?
3) Why is the water brown around Goondiwindi?

1/. Cos it's fun :)
2/. Divine intervention.
3/. Cos the beardies are out and about.
4/. Cos the water is brown.
5/. Cos they're a*s holes.
6/. Ask Mark

Hope this helps :)

Because In the dry season, which is now, there are loads of tourists who persist in travelling at 70-90 kmh. And there are lots of them!

So I could understand it gets rather frustrating having to slow down from 180 to 80 time after time again. That might answer your question why people overtake in what seems like irrational places.
and about the coffee thing.....well, I dont know, some people just do that i guess.

Oh, what state were you talking about?

i have thought about this one too... people who overtake in rediculous places only to be waitng at the next set of lights with you right beside/behind them.. and the conclusion i have come to is people are just impatient...

2) Why is it, just when you are thinking that the next illegitimate child who tailgates or cuts in front of you is getting a bullbar up his clacker, someone flicks their lights to say "thanks" after you let them past?

i guess that just goes to show there are still some good people out there...

3) Why is the water brown around Goondiwindi?

havent been there but i'd guess it would have to do with there being dirt in the water or maybe alot of tea tree's around there...

4) Why are the beardies out and about at Goondi?
cos you said so yourself people aim for turtles and echidnas.. so the beardies have nothing to fear.... seariously but... it must have all the right things that beardies like...

5) Why do people aim for turtles and echidnas? Do they like to get together in bars and brag how many innocent animals they've killed this week?

i have to agree with afro
5/. Cos they're a*s holes.

6) Why are my buttocks so sore?
