This is mostly for the younger people on APS.. I've just finished school, and started doing my tafe course.. Unfortunately I don't start my apprenticeship until next year, so I'm currently working in the hospitality industry and going to tafe.

Anyone who has worked in the hospitality industry would know that hours can get pretty hectic at times, usually night times, which is what I work mostly. I'm left with massive gaps during the day around my tafe and soccer.

I already have a side project that I'm doing once a week, for anyone interested its a rip off of that cooking movie.. I'm baking one recipe of cookies a week, trying to finish a whole recipe book.. For people in sydney who love cookies pm me for samples.

Onto the point, I want some ideas of killing time. Considering I kill some time with running, training and baking, and I still have anywhere between 7 - 10 free hours a week where I do NOTHING, I'm asking are there any games out there worth playing?

Im talking about online multiplayer games, diffferent hobbies etc.. I haven't played WoW, but I do play dota and such games competitively on garena and Battle.net.. Don't say musical instruments, because I'm looking towards starting drumming again, and have played the harmonica since i was 8.

Anything productive you can suggest? (even tho video gaming isnt productive)

WoW will end up taking more than 10 hours a week if you get addicted like most people (including me haha) but its fun.

It wont take up more as I dont have any more time to spare.. LOL

I was thinking WoW just because I get so bored, I tried reading, but I have only limited interest. And punting books are very short, and not many good ones.

Ummm....you could volunteer to help out somewhere?

The RSPCA? Old peoples home? You play Soccer? Maybe some coaching?
I don't know, maybe some others have some ideas of places....nothing is coming to me right now....

have you tried girls?, i did at your age and found them fun...

I have a girlfriend, we work for the same company, and do the same thing at tafe. If i spent anymore time with me, she'd get sick of me (even if she probably already is)

I already play soccer, it should be in there somewhere. I applied to coach a team, also applied to referee, but didn't realise you can't play and referee, even if you want to ref the much younger grades.

i agree.....

for video games maybe try out Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2...killer game...

Yeah then it won't be much of a problem haha. When I first started playing I hated it but when you learn to play its more than fun.

Oh, I have also taken up poker, but can't say my mother is too happy, because every 3 weeks when I get a friday night off, it is spent in star city casino.. I LOVE the new poker room upstairs.. If anyone wants to go to the casino on the 19th.. :)

dont take up wow. i held out for 3 years and eventually got convinced to play and and 2 years later after it took up all my spare time i have finally quit. thats just my opinion on wow anyway.

back on topic why not try building and painting models of some sort.

why dont you just realx in our free time.. watch telly or bum around on the computer. dont work yourself too hard o.o

When I finished school and until I started working I just hung out with my girlfriend or did absolutely nothing.....was great! Now 5 years down the track I'm so glad I did coz you pretty much don't get any relaxation time once you start working or going to uni.

I hate it so much, I can't handle doing nothing. I'm literally going crazy, can't wait till my course starts haha.

I cant handle sitting around and twiddling my thumbs.. Dont ask why.. And Hobbies, I've tried war hammer, building stuff, but I just have about zilch artistic ability, and not too great at building stuff either. My parents are getting annoyed at me - I just want to start hospitality.

Anyone who wants to come around for drinks and a main and desserts :) feel free.

From a female's point of view.... Don't get into WOW

Too many of my friends have lost their husbands/partners to that game ;)

It builds good social skills though.

My ex-Psychology Teacher has played it for years. He doesn't play as much now because of his family, but he's one of the nicest people I know. One of my friends plays it every spare hour he has, but he's a nice kid too. I played it for a two weeks, but then I got to the max level and it was boring from then on so I stopped.

I prefer Tibia, as I said, dodgy graphics. And I probably spend more money on that than I would on a WoW game card. Something about it is just so addicting.
