Whilst it's certainly a nice big specimen, the claim that it could be the biggest turtle in Oz are unjustified. Not only are there much bigger specimens of this species known (the biggest I know of has a carapace of about 40 x 30 cm), the Pig-nosed Turtle gets much bigger at over 20kg.

Nice specimen, but they need to do a bit more reading and researching on other Aussie turtles!
I have three turtles bigger than that in my backyard ponds!
