can a python get lead poisoning from a air rifle pellet that was in the dead animal they ate? ?

What a bizarre question LMAO...

I don't think eating bullets would be good for anyone,
but I have no idea of the health issue implicated there..

i wouldn't do it regardless....
the animal in question that i can assume your feeding to the snake could be carrying internal parasites, not a wise idea.

If you are picking bunnies off, just use a small guage rifle, should only take the one shot, so dig out the slug.... its not like your digging buckshot out of them.

I would think that he'd need to eat a fair amount before health issues occurred - lead is a cumulative thing, so one little pellet probably wouldnt kill him. But if you are regularly feeding him things with pellets in them, he may end up with lead poisoning over time. And body mass will also come into the equation, if he's only little it will take less time for poisoning to occur. I think it's best if you can remove the pellets first, to eliminate all risk.

if you get the slug out freeze the kill for a couple months, should help kill off alot of the internal parasites and other stuff the bunny's carrying
(well so i've been told)
