Hey guys,

I have been checking out this site for a while now and I have gained lots. Thanks for the help, goss, laughs, and useless information that makes this site a winner. I thought is was time though to introduce myself and my 8 month old Jungle python, Moose. I think I have seen quite a few of his brothers and sisters on this site aswell. This is my first post so I really hope this picture comes up, if it does I will send you a few more....if it doesn't.....help is appreciated.

Welcome!

Nice little snake, there is always a laugh or two feel free to join in the commotion.

Hey Star11 welcome to APS... love the log in your little ones enclosure... do you have any more pictures of it... (feel free to include Moose in any pictures of course!)

Where abouts are you?

Beautiful snake there mate!

Welcome to APS!

Welcome to herpville for the masses. Good fun eh. nice snake.

Thanks guys, that's great! What a welcome!
Yes, he is my treasure, that's for sure. I am already looking for another one, either a mate for him or another snake...probably both though I reckon...actually I can see many more in the future, I love em!
I am working on a photo of the whole enclosure alexr....my friend found this log in his parents backyard, it's a beauty.

Just took this photo now. He loves basking up on the top branch, under the heat of course. He also hides inside it. Actually, he never touches the ground at all. Not sure if that is because of the substrate though, it has sanitised woodchips in it, I think I will get something softer next time...either that or he loves his branch too much.
The enclosure is quite large for his size, but he is a very happy snake indeed.
I've got another to show the size too...

Been wondering.......Does anyone have any idea why this little guy doesn't like touching the ground? Is it the substrate? Is it the branch? Or does he just hate ground level? I have never seen him on the ground or in the log...at all. Should I get a substrate less coarse?
cheers

No problem there mate, mine do the same they just feel more comfortable up high, even when i take them outside and put them on the lawn they will often crawl straight back up my arm and around my neck lol.

They come down sometimes when therehungry they get more active, and remember the light is up there and so is the warmth, at night when your asleep he is probably all over the place!

Pugs

Fantastic enclosure. How good is that stump. (dont have a snake yet so can't comment on the ground level question)

Thanks guys!
I guess he just likes hanging about off the ground. And you are right pugsly, he is all over the place at night....everywhere but on the ground. I just thought he must not like the woodchips too much, anyway, it will be a good experiment next time. He seems happy all the same.
cheers
Jus
:D

yeah they do feel a strange sensation on there belly i think, unlike the childreni or maccies etc who love it on the ground.
