license conditions?

OK I am getting conflicting answers from people arounf me. I have a QLD RWL and it states:
one place that the license gives me the right to keep unlimited animals, reptiles and amphibians
under this it says
Conditions for : keeping live commercial reptiles and recreational amphibians
Agency interest: general
A1G1 Aditional Information:-A maximum of 2 restricted reptiles other than reptiles of the families elapidae, hydrophiidae and laticaudidae may be kept ubder this license

OK all good I tought, I can have two snakes if I want to. Then a friend stated that no that means you can have as many as you want, but only two of the ones mentioned. I am thinking, NO WAy they let me have poisnues snakes, it must mean just two reptiles ALL UP, wether that be snakes, lizards or what ever. Anyways, we would like to get a couple more soon (provided hubby dont get upset), and in that respective I need to know if I can only get one or more( we have only one now) or more. If only one more where (exactly) do I "upgrade:" my license

Ok I think you may have miss read that information.. Here is a direct quote from the QLD Licence application for a recreational Reptile Licence...

"a standard recreational wildlife licence for reptiles and amphibians (which ALSO allows keeping of a maximum of 2 restricted reptiles or amphibians OTHER than dangerous reptiles eg. reptiles of the families Elapidae, Hydrophiidae and Iaticaudidae)"

You may keep as many recreational reptiles as you wish (as long as you care for them correctly) and are restriced to a maximum of 2 restriced reptiles. You may not keep any of the reptiles of the families Elapidae, Hydrophiidae and Iaticaudidae on this type of licence.

Thanks heaps. and yeah....that means I be able to go for both the new snakes I want. Just waiting for some cash in the bank, small argument with hubby and more pythons it is.

I dont think so as it is a part of the Elapidae family but if you really want to double check it is always best to call the EPA and they will be able to assit you further
