Hey all just seen on the 7 news a few shots of a new born liger ive known about these for a little while and they intrest me alot for those who dont know ligers/tigons are a cross breed between lions and tigers the are known as the worlds largest cat

they are quite good lookking creatures to i included a few pics tell me what u think

and heres the table u use to find out what u call them lol

Ma + Pa =Child
Lion + Tigon =Tigon
Tiger + Liger =Ti-liger
Tiger + Tigon =Ti-tigon



Ma + Pa =Child
Lion + Tiger =Liger
Tiger + Lion =Tigon
Lion + liger =Li-liger
 
Well that has to be one hell of a controversial issue that one!!!! While i think they look quite awesome i think it is wrong!!! These are obviously captive bred hybrids and while i'm not against the crossing of certain snakes i think this is taking things to the extreme.These animals aren't in the pet trade"legally that is" and i see no reason whatsoever to this cross breeding!!!

I guess it's a question of where do you draw the line,just my opinion though......
 
well apperently the new ones on the news were an accident that happened when they put a male tiger in with a female lion while they were cleaning the cages but still a beautiful animal and intentonaly crossbreed they may be but now they have 2 and 3 generation of these things that look amazing
 
do you have any stats on their weight, size ect? they look HUGE
i would love a cuddle ;)

if i was to own a cat it would have to be a black panther or a tiger lol
 
im trying to remember what i heard about them, something about there is a genetic stuffup if teh pattern of parents is wrong, one si jsut big, the other doesnt stop growing, but has a shorter life
