Hey everyone Im traveling to the U.S in November and I will either be selling my collection or looking for someone to babysit / come check on my snakes while Im gone. Im not 100% how long i will be going for it might be 3months it might be 6months and Im just getting an early lookout to see if anyone is interested in looking after my snakes i have 2 3yr old diamonds about 4ft long each. 3 jungles 1 hatchie 1 yearling and 1 2yr old. They will come with food and enclosures / tubs and ill be paying for your time and service. This is only a early thing to see if anyone out there is interested its still not a 100% idea if ill be keeping them or not.

Leave your comments on what you think if its a good idea or a bad idea. I wont just be handing them over to anyone.

If you decide to let someone "sit" your snakes make sure you draft a legal binding document that clearly states
-The amount the sitter will be paid
-The duties the sitter is being paid for
-That the reptile remain 100% your property
-What you would like to with the body in the event of a death
-That the reptiles are never to leave your residence.

May cost you a little bit of money to get it done but there are several examples of when these deals turn sour and the owner returns to missing or sold snakes.

I know of a fella by the name of Rory Mclean who lives up your way and would love to take advantage of your offer... Pm me for his contact details

So you'd be looking to have someone come to attend to them or would you be handing them over for someone to take into their home? If you were handing them over (I never do this myself as I would rather someone in my house for a few minutes than have any of my animals stolen) I would only hand them over to a registered pet sitting business. They quite often take small or unusual animals to their own homes to save making the trips to your house. Problems I could see with this are theft, quarantine and possible stress from children or other animals being in the same vicinity.

If you were looking for someone to come to your house, get a police check done. It's $14.95 last time I checked in Qld and well worth doing. If the person is offended by your asking or won't give details, they aren't the person for the job. Also, I don't know how much room it'd take up in someone's house to send them all elsewhere, let alone the effort. Just put your valuables in your bedroom drawers and get a lock on your bedroom door. Give the spare key NOT to the sitter but to someone else in town that you trust in case the room needs to be opened.

Whatever you decide I hope it works out for you. Also, I am soooo jealous. Can I come in your suitcase?
