ARC (Amphibian Research Centre) have started trialing and selling calci-gents (a fancy name for maggots). I got a free sample 250gram - aprox. 500 calci-gents. I tried them on my Central Netteds,Boyds,Beardies and Ackies. All seemed to love them except for the ackies which I didn't really hang around to see if they ate them. They seemed a bit small, I was hoping they were a bit bigger. They were reasonably easy to dish out apart from the sieving of the substrate in which they came in. They are supposedly high in calcium and have low phosphorus levels . What I was wondering was what do people thing of the nutritional content and bang for buck so to speak of buying them and having them delivered and feeding them to lizards every now and then?

I saw them on the website the other day and was thinking about them for my EWDs.

Do they come already hatched out? (ie maggots)
how long can you keep them for?
My EWDs love blowflies when I catch them, I wonder if you can let em grow into flies?

I got some and nearly all my lizards hated them so we let them turn into flies instead.

They come as maggots and turn into flies in a couple of days at room temperature.
