Mag Frogs

Hey all,

after serious talking with Mum + Dad, Mum has decided to get herself 2 magnificent tree frogs later on when we come back from holidays.

I was wondering if people could post some pictures of their mags and their set ups? And also give me a brief run down on what stuff i would need to keep a healthy pair.

Cheers
Shane

Mags are pretty easy to keep, keep them almost the same as a GTF, though GTF's are much more tollerant of low temps and need litle to no heating, Mags will do better if kept at 25 - 30 ambient. A simple enclosure is all thats needs, no real need for alot of standing water if you keep the humidity high. They grow quite large though so a larger tank is best.

Thanks Jason. I was also wondering if a exo-terra 30 x 30 x 45 would suit 2 babies? Because we have a spare one of those tanks and Mum wants to use it

Babies are small and the tank would suit, but only for a little while, they can reach full size within 10 months.

i dont know

o gee, thats a helpful post. mate, if you aint gonna help, don't bother posting stuff like that. LOL.

like they said, they can be bad if not at a high enough temp, but are beautiful animals to keep, and they look amazing. i like to have them in an aquarium with water in the bottom to keep up humidity, and a water warmer if you want.

The problem with that is i dont want them breeding and thats what i've been told to do if i want to breed them

There is a little more to breeding frogs than that.. And in the slim chance that they do spawn in your tank, you can just throw the eggs out.
