Male Coastal Growth rates

Hi all,
This is probably a nonsense question but someone might know something. I have a male Coastal who is 4 yrs old in a month or so and is about 7'8" and still growing. My question is at what age or size do the female coastals start to out do the males? eg from about 8' onwards the female will continue to grow at a more noticeable rate compared to the male who slows right down? At what size does a male get to before he starts to be big for his sex?

As I said bit of a dopey question but curious if anyone has any oppinions.

G'day Davo,

There's doesn't seem to be a lot of sexual dimorphism with regards to size in Carpet Pythons. Both sexes are considered quite large at 2.7 metres, and from there on they increase in girth dramatically. Very few break the 3 metre mark, and those that legitimately do are very big snakes.

i was inder the impression that male coastals (esp from the brissy area) will typically get larger than the females due to the male combat at mating time.

I've seen two carpets that I classify as huge (over 3 metres). One was male, the other was female.

I have a yearling coastal and he is tiny - well about 75cm
Long way before he is considered huge
