Is it just me or are pet shop mice rediculously priced. Neither i nor the missus want to breed mice at home but surely someone on here can supply adult mice around Brisbane at a cheaper price than pet shops. Please help...........

I personally prefer Pet City in Wishart who I think are very well priced, I went to a local independent pet store the other week and was horrified at both price and quality... Oh, and PC have a range of both mice and rats in incremental sizes from

pinky-fuzzy-hopper-weaner-adult,

and the little place had:

pinky/fuzzy-weanling-adult

The fewer choices of size was kind of disappointing, and there wasn't really a consistency in the sizes they had! Not to mention the mice defrosted in the water, leaving behind really dirty water, whereas the PC rodents are by comparison exceptionally clean, rarely ever changing water clarity at all... Gives me peace of mind that they are conscious about hygiene standards etc...

If you haven't tried them, go to Pet City and I reckon you'll be happy...

What is a fair price for mice in Brisbane. I know a lot get sent to petshops from NSW.

The pet stores are pretty expensive! I can't vouch for the other breeders in Brisbane (as Ive not bought from them), but I can personally recommend 'Centralian11' (Ratbags). Jordan and Co are friendly and happy to offer advice and show you around.
Plus the best prices ;)
Have a look at this thread

If you added GST and profit to those prices they would be a lot dearer than NSW petshop prices, which are normally about double "backyarder" prices.

True, but for what we could pay around here, it's reasonable. Most of what they sell is simply surplus to their own reptiles needs.

i went to bout 7 different pet shops the other day looking for a gecko and at one shop i saw a mouse at $25 and one for $70 !!!!!!!!! for a mouse ... how much can they cost r they really worth $70

Hey tooninoz

I'm assuming centralian 11 is someone on here? Does ratbags have a website or anything. Thanks for the help too

ok, cheers guys, i went and saw the guys at ratbags and everything is all good now. Thanks for all the feed back

$70 for a mouse? Amazing! You could freight them up from Melbourne singly and still be ahead!

Ratbags would be good in sydney!!!!! There is no where (to my knowledge) in sydney to buy reasonably priced rodents!!! The best I can get is I think $25 for 3 rats. Does anyone know anywhere in sydney where reasonably priced rodents can be purchased?

I supply a number of shops in Sydney but only deal in bulk. If your local petshop has not got reasonable supplies of frozen rats, mice, rabbits or quail pm me with details and i will see what I can do.
