microclimate DL2ME question

gday all, just a question about the DL2ME microclimate thermostat, has anyone had issues with the light sensor not registering properly as in staying on night setting?
have adjusted sensor switch and still nothing.
sits near a window so its getting light, bloody thing works when torch shines on it! :evil:
but not anyother light natural or electric
any input appreciated

Crack it open and make sure the "magic eye" sensor is aligned with the hole in the cover, if it is run a drill bit through the "magic eye" hole to make it a bit bigger, it will let more light through and should respond a little better to the sensitivity adjustment on the bottom.
