monitor size dilemma

hey,

I just have a quick question. Is there any monitors available in between Ackies and Sand moniotrs?

Both ackies and sand goannas can vary in adult size a fair bit. What size monitor are you after?

i probably deserved that Magpie.

I have read that Sandmonitors can grow up to 1.6m and Ackies only to about 70cm so probably something close to 3ft maybe a bit bigger

the vast majority of sandies don't reach anything like that size, depends on their local, and if the person IDing them can tell the difference between a sandy and a yellow spotted. I'd guess a typical sandy would suit you or maybe a tristis (black headed mon)

My personal favorite, though they get bigger than a sandy, they are really quite a large monitor, just with a squat tail, still they are quite cheap and grow pretty slow, though require ALOT of heat.

if your after something around the 3ft mark plenty to choose from, mertens, mangrove,spencers,sandies

HOWEVER another couple are the black-footed rock monitor (glebopalma), kimberley rock monitor (glauteri),emerald monitor (prasinus), and if you find any of these for sale please PM, cheaper the better.lol

dont know if your in NSW or not but all of these except the sandie are class 2
