Hey everybody, Am looking into getting a monitor.

Was wanting a smaller Species, That still looks awesome. (pics would be good)
Anyone have suggestions :D :D :D

Cheerz Brett.

Hi Brett,
Have you considered some of smaller terrestrial species; such as;
V.storr's, V acanthurus, etc
Or maybe some of the smaller arboreal species; such as;
V tristis, V scalaris or V gillians?
My suggestion is that you look through some books on monitors;
do some research; and see what you like the look of .
Those i've listed are bred in reasonable numbers these days;
and either would IMO; be suitable as a introduction to keeping monitors.

i think out of the small ones u have a choice of 3 or four in nsw on basic licence,but anyways,i find them all awsome,similar in husbandry requirements,so which do u prefer,i think as a first ridge tails or gillens pygmy mulgas are a great first choice

Sorry for hi-jacking your thread but i just have a quick question, would you be able to build a pen outside for some monitor's down the bathurst region or would it be to cold for them ?,
cheers.
