Fuscus,

Saw the show last night. Definately the biggest Croc I have ever seen. Far bigger than the 18 footer at Green Island. What a pitty they did not manage to catch it

Does Oscar (did I get its name right? Its been a long time) still live on Green Island? I used to catch aquarium fish in the mid 80s and we supplied the resort there with some of his displays. That croc was huge then. I can remember going to have a look at him at sunset ("Stand back from the cage. He often goes for people at this time of day") and not being able to see him. Its a nervy feeling, knowing that hidden somewhere, proberly watching, is a huge croc. Even with a strong fence between you and the animal.

a friend came back from green island a couple of weeks ago and got photo's of that croc. HUGE.

Is it just me or does a 12m crocodile that has single-handedly eaten 300 villagers sound abit far fetched.
For those who saw the show, was it really that big?

Also what category licence do I need to keep Gustave? And is it possible to buy frozen hippos from the petstore?

lol good one turt herm i think u need a stage 12 lisence class 300 and u can by hippo sized rabbit sausages from the pet shop or u can order live villagers from africa

the eating of the suposid 300 villagers could of been over the last 100 years though ??

The croc is proberly being blamed for all attacks, drownings and dissapperances in that area. There are lots of things to worry about in Burundi besides that one croc, exspecially when you consider that they are fighting in that area.

I think Oscar at Green Island died many years ago. The giant they have there now is Casius, who is much bigger then Oscar ever was. Casius is a true 18 footer and his size is just awesome.

Gustava appeared to be as long , if not longer then Casius, but being a nile Croc he is far heavier bodied. They reckoned he was between 18 to 21 feet long, and this is believable specially when you see a hippo walk between him and the camera. His teeth were that huge he looked just like a ancient dinosaur.

yeah it was casius thanks bob, unless i can get the head shot of it scanned i cant post pics as it is a photo not a digi one. ill see what i can do. and the head shot is amazing.
