These were taken by my friend Dr. Gillian Eckert over the winter in Churchhill, Manitoba. She's a biologist for the Florida State University, and studies the impact of ecotourism on the Polar Bear population in Churchhill. She sent me these photos....

That's her with a male bear she named Guava.

And that's a female named Yoda, with her cub.
 
awesome. id love to see them up close, i dont think u can appreciate how big they are until u see them up close

maybe your right slateman, maybe bears come from mars so they settled where the feel most at home!
