Hey guys,Thinking about moving interstate, from Qld to SA.. i have a few reptiles that i want to bring with me..i was just wondering what would i have to do to be able to transfer them on a SA permit and move them interstate.
cheers for any help :)

The first thing i would be doing is contacting the Deparment of Environment and Heritage in S.A. via a phone call or the link provided below to check whether the animals you want to bring with you are allowed on the permit you will need to aquire.
Then do the same in Qld to notify them of your intent to relocate interstate as you will need to arrange both export permits to leave Qld AND also import permits to bring the animals into S.A.
Depending on what you keep you shouldnt have to many issues bringing them to S.A. as we have a HUGE variety to choose from even on our basic permit.
Another thing to take into consideration is the waiting time for the permits to come through.I have no experience at the Qld end with regards to delays and cost however at this end (Adelaide) ive had import permits came back in under 1 week and they are also free which is a rare thing with Government agencies these days.

On the QLD side of things you do not need an export permit just a Movement Advice (just like when you sell or purchase any reptile). They are also free and instantaneous if done online.

Not meaning to come across as "thick"I am on the Gov permit/licencing site and the only thing I can find is a movement advice request that I print off and then send back to them with $2.95? I got my Licence(recreational wildlife)instantaneously, is this what you are meaning? once again, not wanting to sound "thick" I am just a little overloaded with information :) I have spent all my spare time reading rules/regs(regarding licence) and perusing this great site :)

the import/export permit for SA says "allow up to two days for processing" so...that'll be the easy part of your movement :p

our licenses are also rather easy to get, but if you apply now (if you intend on moving before the end of the financial year) you'll need to pay the $32 for the entire 6 months even though it'll expire at the end of the financial year.
goodluck!
