Went to Mt Walsh on the weekend but had to return with face mask and snorkel today to retrieve my partners ring (my xmas pressie to him) which slipped of his finger while trying to pull himself out of the waterhole.
We took the camera today and retrieved the ring only to find the resident saw-shelled turtle had taken an interest in us.
On Sunday i was standing on a rock with my partner who got off the rock and tipped it up sending me flying into the water (yes hilarious). Ironically today, while my darling was standing on the same rock he lost his balance and ended up in the drink while eating his ham and pickle bread roll. Now that WAS funny. We grabbed as much of the roll as possible only to witness the eel take the ham, the shrimp eat the pickles and the saw shelled turtle chase after the bread.
A gorgeous little skink stopped on a rock in front of me too and happily posed for two pics.
Now i am as lazy as anything and very unfit but this walk to the water holes etc are not bad at all. So if you are in the region of Hervey Bay/Maryborough/Bundaberg it is well worth the walk and visit. The water is very refreshing and you can actually slide down the rocks and into the water.
