Hey i just recieved my reptile licence so im picking up my childreni this week. I've set up a click clack enclosure on my desk with heat mat and all that. I've also got my laptop and speakers on the desk as well as a 200 watt sub on the floor, my question is how do pythons like music? I know they have really bad hearing but would the Bass distress him?

Thanks Guys

I often wondered that, and i found it safer to assume yes. But now that my fella is settled in and all that, i dont care, i play the tunes when i feel like it. Hahahaha

Even if u can just turn the Sub off, as they cant hear anything, but the sub would be like giant footsteps all day with the vibrations.

i would say the vibrations from the speakers would affect him, depending on how much music is played, which i am assuming alot because i play myne alot :D

snakes do better in a quieter environment, as in, frequent vibrations and shocks etc. won't be the best for the snake..
hope that makes sense

Nat ;)

yeah thats what i was thinking, but i'd prefer to keep the sub so i might just end up moving the click clack.

well since snakes have no external ears they hear by sensing vibrations in the ground and i read an article about a snake that wouldnt eat because it was in a room with headbanging music going.
heres a quote from the article

I remember a case where a person bought a snake that stopped feeding once they took it home. After much frustration and fending off accusations, it finally dawned that they kept the snake in a room where head-banging music was regularly played. Once the snake was moved away from the source of vibration, it started feeding straight away.

heres the article url its on the 7th paragraph

Well, for the snakes liking music part, I doubt it. They can't hear, and I doubt they'd appreciate the vibrations of something huge and constant. I'd suggest moving the click clack to somewhere else, preferably out of the room, or you don't play music with the speakers for a while.

okay decision made, move click clack, thanks for that Greg, much appreciated.

My little ones enclosure is quite close to my stereo and music doesn't seem to bother her, though I don't play it immensely loud.

does your system have a sub? because thats what i think would be scaring them.

my house mates snake seems to like the vibrations of his amp when he plays guitar if he has it out it makes its way to the top of the amp and then sits on it an goes to sleep with no problems but as soon as he stops playing it kinda wakes up looks around then wanders off every time without fail. wierd ay i'll try and get some pictures
