i have had my diamond for 3 yrs now and she has never bitten me or any one else ever no matter what. now the other day i went to pick her up and she bit me and again the day after and every time i get close to her she looks like she gonna bite. has any one had this problem before. could she be pregnant?

Has it been mated ?
I have had it happen with a diamond , got to adult size then got grumpy , no idea why .

ours started getting really snappy but she is still small. it was because we stopped holding her regularly and when we started handling her more she stopped biting

Jay and krazedboarder.. Im curious if either or both of you feed your animals in their enclosures or if you remove them to a tub to feed?

Good question, do any of you guys remove them?

I personally dont...

I do feed in the cage Colin...... But have done so for the whole 8 years i have had him....... why the change in attitude and behaviour now?

my diamond suddenly got snappier but i noticed it was only when i touched her near the tail, after further prodding i realised she has a golf ball sized constipation hurting her, once she passed it she was much nicer again.
(although i was still a bit scared for a while, .lol)

have a good feel and make sure shes not sore somewhere.

yeah i remove all my snakes into their own dedicated bin for feeding- there is never an association with my entering an enclosure with food- and never get tagged cleaning out the cages- but once they get in that bin it is a whole different ball game- they know that the next thing that enters that container has food written allover it- my wife found out the hard way when we put our Alby Darwin in a container to clean out a very messy enclosure on a non-feeding day- when she reached in to put him back- BAM.

and that is a breed that NEVER bite for the most part.
