Hey check this out. It's a video of a trial run for my robot I had to build for Tafe. The robot has to be able to find its way through a maze. Let me know what you think. It's not the best but hey it works.

damn!!! i thought it was gonna be the robot off big bang theory, dissapointed:(
seriously though pretty sweet!!

Awesome... now build me optimus prime... you may have one month

I've noticed a major flaw in your robot, no flamethrower :/

How do you expect to burn you mortal enemies to a crisp that can be compared to bacon?

Good job

What course is that, that you're doing?

Was it a kit that you built and then programmed? Or did you build from scratch?

I'd now make a maze to my fridge, a ramp to the beer and then re-program it to find its way back with beer in (claw?).

Well done. Obviously the program is to follow the right wall but I didn't notice any contact with the wall, which is very impressive

I've trained the wife to do that, she is reliable and relatively quite but unfortunately her claw often punctures the can.

I built the robot from scratch. It uses a ultrasonic sensor on the front and infrared sensors on the side. The robot can follow either the left or right wall. I had to write the program from scratch. The programming is similar to quick basic using "IF, Then and the Else" commands. The way it's set up it measures the distance in front and to the side then decides if it has room to drive forward or turn left or right. It's a fairly simple program but takes a lot of fine tuning to get it to turn properly. The computer chip is the Picaxe 28x2 chip/board.

The course I am doing at Tafe is a diploma in mechanical engineering. Only got 1 year to go.

wow! Nice work!! 1yr left..... I cant w8 till I can say that...3yrs to go for me!!! ya.

I had to do a similar thing at uni, with an 8051 microcontroller.. The bad part? We had to do most of it in Assembly :(
