Hey guys just wondering about my hatchy stimmy. I bought a blacklight globe for it the other day so I could watch it at night and i turned it on and the snake struck at it (its never struck at anything but its food and thats hard enough i have to really annoy her to make her take the food). Another time i tried it she got really jumpy started using VERY fast head movements and instant went to her hide as if something was after her.
I've stopped using it and bought a red lightglobe instead she doesnt mide that at all but just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this.

Are you protecting her from the bulb? If not and she were to strike it hard...

O yeah she's in a click clack just had the bulb shining in from the side so I could look at her at night time she just struck the click clack. The blacklight is now replaced with a red globe in the ceiling as its the snake room now :D seems fine just thought it was strange that she hated it so much.

Phew, glad to hear it! Sorry - just got a little bit concerned! But yeah, no idea what's going on there... hehe, maybe just disturbed her? :)

Haha yeah wouldn't want a little snake striking at glass :S I don't think it was because i disturbed her shes normally pretty happy to cruise when i'm around. The first time I tried it she was acting a bit weird, second time she struck thought maybe I just frightened her and then the third time I tried it she freaked i knew it was the light and all that had been over a week. She doesnt seem to mind the red one. Wonder if this has happened with anyone else seems weird buying a reptile light that scares the reptile.

Hey my 2 year old bredli has done this once when the light came on a startled him and flinched the other time but it was a red globe not a black light.
Maybe the sudden heat that randomly appeared scared her or she was hungry....

the heat idea makes more sense however it was fairly far away from the click clack
