Hey guys. Ive got this awesome little pair of jungle pythons. Never bitten by either, never even looked like tagging me. The male eats when convinved to (just holding it infront of him for a minute while he casually opens his jaws). Whilst the female is mad. The moment there is a visual, there's an explosion. However my drama is. as soon as there is any other slight movement. from myself or anything. The mouse is out of the mouth and she's chasing the movement.

So my question is. does anyone have any helpful hints they'd like to give me to overcome this drama. Its no real biggy. and if its the biggest drama i have with this little pair ill be delighted.

Cheers
Thom

Have you tried feeding her in the dark? She sounds like she just needs some privacy while she is eating :)

i have one coastal thats kinda like that, he's a little slow to strike, but once he does he wants anything that moves, dont matter if there is light or not. I feed him in his enclosure and once he takes the rat i cover his enclosure and leave him till he is finished. He is almost 2 years old and has done it every feed that i have had him for. My other 3 (2 coastals and a bredli) are fine, the let me take feeding vid's, and stick the camera right in their face for pics from the strike/constriction right through to the end, am still to get any feeding pics of this one and have had him a while now.

I've got a jungle that does the same thing, he's just shy eating around movement. This is a problem when I'm trying to feed a room full of snakes so I just stick some newspaper of the front of his enclosure, seems to do the trick.

put a dark cloth over the front.
And leave it alone, hopefully it will grow out of it when it puts on some size.

I think it's mostly covered above.....covering the enclosure seems to work well.....several of ours just hold on to the rat and won't eat if there are distractions, once the tub is covered with a towel they are into it.
