hey guys,
im abit confused when it comes to breeding morphs, i dont understand the whole het and everything, a good explanation would be appreciated thanks

Genetics are pretty complicated and it's hard to go through everything but I'll try give a simple explanation. TRY being key here.
Essentially one genetic attribute, eg Albinism, is assigned to an animal by two alleles, or pieces of genetic information. Say the genetic code for non-albinism or normal genotype is (A) and the code for albinism is (a). Albinism is recessive while the normal trait is dominant. So when each parent passes one of its two alleles on to the offspring, the baby needs to get two (a) alleles to be albino. So say the mother is albino and the father is het. The mother's alleles are (a) (a) and the father's are (A) (a). Het is short for heterozygous which means the alleles are different, and when the alleles are the same it's called homozygous. The offspring has to get an (a) from the mother but can get either one from the father. If the father passes on an (A) the baby becomes het, if he passes on an (a) the baby becomes albino. So in this case there is a 50% chance of the baby being albino and 50% chance of being het. I'm not gonna go into co-dominance, you may want to look that up. Hope that helps/makes some sense =)
