i am wanting to know if it is hard to breed Nephrurus species, can you just leave males and females in and they will breed,

also does anyone have any for sale ( in particular Nephrurus levis tanami )

:D

Hey Lost,
It is divided as to which way is best - co-habitate all year or seperate the sexes until breeding time.
Both ways have success.
It is off season atm - they will be everywhere in a few months.
Cheers

Hey Lost,
Generally the animals should be readily available around December,
you will most probably find some sooner, but you will have the biggest choice then.
Cheers

I've never even heard of N. levis tanami.
But if you are keeping levis, then you can keep them together fine. I keep 1.3 levis levis together.
I've heard that amyae, asper and wheeleri should be kept seperately except for breeding.
laevissimus are apparently very fragile as juvies so should be housed inividually for at least 6months.
There's a few people getting eggs already, as well as some hatching, but the main season starts in Nov / Dec.

No such thing as N. levis tanami, should be Tanami, N. levis. the levis found in this area have a pronounced vertibral stripe, (if anyone has some, please pm me if wanting to do a bloodline swap) I keep both my N. levis and N. amyae together all year but offer them many hides so females can hide away from the male (and they generally do) my amyae enclosure is quite large though, around 5.5 by 2.5 foot of floor space, offering two hides in the hot end and two hides in the cold end.
