Hey all, I have a 6 month male Darwin carpet python who is incredebly placid and just curious and wants to wonder around. My girlfriends younger sister (11 years old) always wants to hold him, however it seems as of he gets close to her hands and gets all tense. Any body else he will sus out and be cautious but after a few minutes will happily climb all over them. I was just wondering if perhaps he doesn't like her smell?? Or perhaps he is able to tell she's a little scared??? I'm just curious to see what other people might think about this :)

I believe snakes could care less about any fear emotions coming from people
Thats because lots of people fear snakes so they are used to it

Your snake trusts you
Thats why you can handle it
If it grows to trust her it will be exactly the same

One other important thing may be simple
Snakes often avoid scents
Young girls often use scented moisturiser deoderant perfume etc etc
