pick him up mid body. dont hold him by first quater of his body.

if you think the pinkies are too small and your baby doesnt have a decent lump in his belly after feeding you can give two pinkies....if you are worried just leave 24 hours between feeds...this way you dont waste the pinkies you already have

My stimmie is about 5 - 6 months old and I feed it one pinkie every 5 - 7 days (going by what I was told to do), and is doing alright. As far as handling goes, there isn't any real techniques to it. Like Liamb said, don't pick him up near the head and just be gentle. The more you handle him the more relaxed you'll become. I was nervouse as all hell the first couple times I handled mine, but you get used to it after a little while.

Juz, as a newbie myself (only had my stimmy for 10 or so months now) take this as a passing thought but my stimmy was eating 2 or so fuzzys every 7-10 days when it was 6 months from what I remember (he's now 1 year & onto large weaner mice). Not sure of your situation, if your stimmie is a picky feeder or whatever but I'm not sure the advice you were given is correct.. I'm usually just a reader of this forum but really felt like I had to let you know :)
Maybe someone more experienced can elaborate?

Relax, remember to breath when you pick him up.He is learning too,how to be held and handled and that you won't drop him.I think it has lots to do with trusting each other.
With the feeding thing i go by how much they open their mouths,if they are stretching their mouths wiiiiiide open its good,if they can get it down to quick and without much effort then up the food size.I know it sounds simple but that's how i like things.hahahahaha.

yea im not scared of him biting im just scared of dropping him if i get bitten. aslo does anyone else reckon he looks a lil like a spoted???

aslo his still a bit nervous him self when i try pick him up?

Yep.if he is still just a bubby he has to trust you as well.the first time i got a wee small tag from my bubs i dropped him out of surprise, and of course he was not hanging onto anything either...typical.....he still doesn't he expects me to nurse him......and nothing bad happened to him....he was bloody surprised i can tell you that much,so was i.

hahaha does he hang onto you or just snap at ya?

My stimmie has a tendacy to latch onto my fingers with the lower section of his body, and not want to let go, haha.

Antho, it may take a little while for him to get used to being handled. Just start out handling him for a couple minutes a couple times a day.
