Customs siezed goods auction.

I hoping they might have included some seized (native) herps but alas it is not the case.

wait a tick, some on tried to smuggle 25,000 ball point pens into australia!? i mean common. maybe smuggling in some decent marshmellows or those 30 second microwave hotdogs but pens?

More than 8,000 bottles of whisky, brandy, gin, rum, vodka and wine as well as gold and diamond jewellery are among several thousand abandoned, forfeited and seized items being auctioned by Customs in Melbourne this week.

you could melt down the gold to make it very pure then turn it into gold leaf! herptrader your geckos could have golden poles to dance on :D

Yeah I often get frisked coming through the airport because they think I'm trying to smuggle an imported salami into the country. They all get red-faced when they find out it's actually part of my anatomy!

.....anyone else have this problem??

Yeah yeah moose, we all know it's a cucumber wrapped in alfoil

But I noticed there's spirits in that list....cheap vodka you say? Interesting...

In most cases those imports are sold as lots, the vodka won't be sold as individual bottles or cartons - if you want it cheap you'll probably need to buy a dozen cartons or more.

The last Customs auction in Sydney that I heard of was about three years ago, and they had (amongst other things) a brand new BMW 735i, a Mercedes, two pallettes of Hawaiian Shirts and 8,000 toilet seats. There were about 250 lots and most of it was alcohol or clothing.

:p
